Analogy for Hosting
After my blog post on the analogy of seo I though I deal with loads of hosting now so why not do one for hosting.
If you google hosting you will probably get hosting is the place where your web files are held that link to you domain name through a number of name server or a record entries.
Actually that was pritty simplistic for me. But still here is the analogy.
So….
I suppose you can think of hosting a bit like a private registration plate and the car it is on.
The car – this is where you hold all your web files. Simpels.
But the point in the car is that hosting is like a car you never know when you will get trouble with it. If you don’t have good security you will get hacked all the time but even if you have the best security you may still get hacked just less often hopefully.
The private reg – the private reg is the domain name. It’s not something big and bulky. It’s only a domain registration name like a private reg on a car.
You don’t put all you shopping in a private reg but in a boot (webspace/hosting) you can move the private reg from car to car but the reg is always yours.
Maybe this was a bad example but I don’t care.
