I have been having trouble getting a posts schedule on one of my blogs. It is a wordpress blog with all the normal features and plugins.

When a post was scheduled it would just miss the the schedule every time I did it. I from this trawled the wordpress forum for a answer. The answers I found are as follows.

1. Server Time issue – basically the servers time and wordpress time were off and it was not allowing wordpress to work.

2. Loopback -This is a script calls upons itself to work. Some servers turn this function off to prevent problems with viruses.

3. WordPress 2.7+ issues – For some reason the update to wordpress 2.7+ seems to through the wordpress blog schedule off somewhat. It has to do with the code being to specific. The resolution to this is to get the cron file from 2.6 and upload it to your version of wordpress and it will work fine.

Was it any of these?……………..NO!

I have found out that the cron file is call itself from the external IP and not locally. It is quite a simple thing that has prevented it from working. But atleast I have got it too work now which is good.
